2004 Transit of Venus

This rare event, Venus passing in front of the sun, last
occured 122 years ago.
We set up our telescope and captured a few images of this interesting celestial
event.
The telescope is equipped with an aluminized mylar sun filter, allowing safe viewing
of the sun. Images were captured with a Canon A60 digital camera held over the eyepiece .
The GPS determines position and precise time.

Venus crosses the edge of the sun. 7:21 AM EDT.
